New services from Ringwood and Lyndhurst

Velvet buses will be coming to the New Forest from 27th May 2008, after Black Velvet Travel were selected by Hampshire County Council to run two new routes.

Services 35 and 300 will replace established service X35 that has been operated by Wilts & Dorset for many years, but the new services will feature several improvements.

New route 300 will provide an express service from Ringwood to Southampton via the A31 and M27, restoring all day direct buses between these centres.

The 35 will follow the traditional route between Ringwood and Lyndhurst via Burley. As now, one journey in each direction will continue to and from Southampton at rush hours.

Provisional timetables are now available for the new routes. These are expected to be confirmed in the next few days.
